Q: I would like to know if my situation with my employer has any standing.
I’m having some troubles with my employer. I am an overtime exempt salaried manager and my pay is based off of a 40 hour work week, I generally work 50. Mon-Fri 7:30a-5:30p or later. I had a fall on 11/1/2024 that lead to some pretty severe injuries. I was off the clock, but on the property. My work has docked my pay for two days I missed. 1 day from each week of the pay period. I physically worked 40 hours each week, but only got paid for 32. I am in search of some help to get this resolved. I’m not comfortable going to anyone above me because they’re all owners of and hold bias. Head of HR is biased. She is the owners daughter and has a stake in the company. So I can’t go to her without fear of retaliation. Since the company has docked my pay I have asked for clock in/clock out card to keep proper track of my time. It has not been an easy thing to get, as the representative I spoke with to get one says I do not need one because I am salary. What can I do?
