Q: Is there anyone willing to help? Most attorneys told me it was a conflict of interest or just did not want to get in it?
I am faced a troubling situation after purchasing a vehicle that was subsequently stolen by my ex-boyfriend. After reporting the theft to my insurance company and the local police, I provided a statement to the officer who assured me that I would be contacted. However, despite my follow-ups, I received no further communication from the officer, which led me to search for my vehicle. I eventually discovered that the police had towed my truck, but I was in the middle of obtaining title. Thankfully, the Oklahoma Tax Commission and even the Governor of Oklahoma were instrumental in helping me secure the title for the vehicle I rightfully own today. I encountered another troubling issue when I was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle in Kay County, Oklahoma. The officer claimed to have arrested me, yet I know for a fact I was never arrested, and nothing was said about the vehicle being stolen. He told where I could go it and that was it! This happened in July of 2021.
