Q: I my vehicle was struck by a car whose driver moved into my lane. I swerved to avoid a front end collision;
but he rammed into rear end, drivers side & both air bags deployed. My car went into a complete tailspin & I was facing the direction from which I was coming, The driver drove about a short way before pulling car over. The car’s left front side & tire wete smashed as a result of slamming the left rear of car.. I contacted the local police & approached his car to exchange data. I asked if he was the man who just hit my car. He cursed at me &walked away in the opposite direction. A companion/woman called for him to return as left the scene, to no avail. My daughter & I were not injured but my car was totaled. The officer later returned my call after providing the basic info for a police report. I learned that a breathalyzer was not given to the other driver , didn’t seem impaired. police told me that in his experience, training & opinion & w the photos, I shouldn’t be liable. Should i.retain a lawyer? The driver has an extensive criminal & drug history, jsil& felonies (age 29)
