Q: I paid a lawyer to write a operating agreement for me and five other guys trying to start a defense contracting company

It's been 4 weeks and I still have not heard anything back yet is that normal?

It is completely dependent on the type of business you are selling. If you are selling a seasonal business like one dependent on beach or summer vacation traffic, then before the season starts. Q: If I bought a company last year and found out recently that the prior owner had left behind environmental contamination,

who is responsible for that? Our contract didn't address it.

Did the owner disclose the existence of the contamination issue? Was he aware of it? If you own the property you are responsible, but can seek reimbursement from the prior owner especially if he caused or was aware of the contamination. No and no. Individuals may have a right to sue and recover for libel/defamation however if named in and injured reputationally by fake new stories.
