Q: TEXAS - hot to calculate 30 days summer possession

Mother is entitled to summer possession to be exercised in no more than 2 separate periods. She has elected 2 separate periods and when I count the total number of days from start to end - it is 32. I would start by being clear on what your Order says and if it begins and ends at 6:00 p.m. then I would count one period of 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as one day and that may be why you are ending up at 32 days instead of 30. I hope this helps.

I would definitely suggest speaking to a probate lawyer in your area. A Small Estate Affidavit may be a viable option if there are no debts. Another option may be an Affidavit of Heirship but that will strongly depend on what the company/institution that is holding the estate funds will accept. I... Read more »
