My daughter is turning 18 in less than a month. She received one moving violation, and has taken the online drivers improvement course. She just now received another ticket for getting up to speed right before the speed limit sign. How can we keep her from getting suspended?

answered on Aug 12, 2021
She will not be suspended given the situation you described. As long as the speeding ticket is less than 35 over, she is eligible for supervision. You can receive supervision twice every 12 months.
There are some other specifics regarding the speeds, but she’s probably okay.

For dui case state says I have 14 days to respond to get a blow machine and get a work permit I don’t have court for 2 more weeks or ignore the letters and let my lawyer take care of it just don’t want to hurt myself

You should be asking your lawyer this question. I usually advise people to send in the application and then review the evidence before paying for the device. But every case is different. You should really hire a lawyer if you have a pending DUI charge.

You need to hire an attorney and get a motion to quash on file. Depending on how long ago the warrant was issued, you may currently have a revoked drivers license. Your attorney can help clear that up through this process as well. Then you need to defend or resolve the DUI.
11 months later, I got into a car accident. Officer gave m a revoked license ticket and a traffic ticket. I know I shouldn’t been driving. How do I go about with the old and new traffic violations. I wasn’t arrested by the officer just An I bond.

You will need an attorney. You may be able to walk out of this with a valid drivers license depending on your history. But it’s time to address the issue and appear in court with a lawyer.
I updated my registration but got a court date notice. Do I need a lawyer? What can I expect?

No, if you’re in lake or cook county, you may be able to show up, show proof of updating it, and get it dismissed.
The cheapest way would be to pay the $164 fine. It’s a non moving offense that is not reported to the Secretary of State and does not go on your record.
I got a speeding ticket after 7 months being off court supervision would I still qualify for it again?

answered on Jun 14, 2021
Yes. You can be placed on supervision two times in any 12-month period. So I’m the last 12 months, you have not been placed on court supervision.
Pleading guilty and requesting court supervision or asking for trial, getting an attorney and hope the cop doesn’t show? What are is the percentage state police don’t show?

answered on Jun 10, 2021
You should probably consult with an attorney who knows the courthouse you will be in. It’s always good to learn the pros and cons
June 2020 I got a ticket for operating an electronic device while moving, I didn't understand what supervision was, so I just sent the guilty and waiver portion back. April 2021 I got a speeding ticket, now I'm understanding I want supervision, but the legal speak says "I have not... View More

You are not eligible to mail in and request supervision with the traffic school. You can appear in court, plead guilty and request supervision. The judge can grant supervision at that time. You will have to pay the additional court costs to appear in court.
It’s possible the judge... View More

The officer had the opinion that you were under the influence of alcohol. If the state can prove that you were you impaired by any amount of alcohol, then you could get a DUI. Even though you blew under.
You definitely need a lawyer to fight this case.

You shouldn’t lose your license. Talk to your attorney. 3 convictions if you’re over 21 within 12 months or 2 convictions within 24 months if you’re under 18 are required before you lose your license.
If this is your second ticket and you’re under 21, you should be able to avoid... View More
I am a WI resident, and got a ticket for going 15 over in IL. The cop even said my record is pristine. I don’t want to just pay the fine, or go to traffic school. If I show up to my court date - could the judge just dismiss it since it’s a first time offense? I don’t want points added to my... View More

If it was in McHenry county, you should obtain an attorney to keep this from being a ticket that affects your Wisconsin license. The judge will not just dismiss the case because you have a clean record. Some prosecutors might, others may offer an amendment to a non moving offense so it’s not... View More
Can the ticket get dismissed since that was a mistake from the cop?

answered on May 5, 2021
This type of mistake will not cause your ticket to be dismissed. You need to hire an attorney.

answered on May 2, 2021
Well, they can do it because they already did it, and they can drop charges for any reason or no reason at all. They certainly can do it. Should they? I mean, should drug possession even be a crime? There are a lot of should questions we can ask about this situation. But can they? If they... View More

Inalienable rights I would generally say are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I suppose you could consider the consumption of alcohol a pursuit of happiness. Generally, lawyers, at least lawyers that I know, do not speak about the consumption of alcohol being an inalienable right. It... View More

There are certainly defenses like what you are referring to. The facts of the case must fit a very specific fact pattern. You should consult with an attorney to further evaluate this defense and help you defend this charge.
