Brookfield, CT asked in Contracts, Employment Law and Entertainment / Sports for California

Q: Is it possible for fans to help a music artist buy their way out of their contract?

Fans of the girl group Fifth Harmony have recently realized that their record label and management team are treating them horribly. However, we do not know the exact stipulations of the contract they signed. If fans wanted to help the group members buy their way out of the contract, would it be possible to set up a go fund me or a trust fund? And if so, would the record label be able to take those donations/funds if one of the group members was the beneficiary? What about if a group member's parent or guardian was the beneficiary?
