Have you asked for a hearing? Do so and do it timely.
If you tell the truth you should get benefits. Remember that the correct way to fire someone is in person and with a witness.
Also, most firings occur toward the end of the week and at the end of the day.
If the firing happened on the phone in the morning there should be a very good reason for that to happen. Most common would be employee saying "I am not coming in today" and boss saying "then you're fired." If it was the first time you called out you probably get benefits. If you called out many times and knew you could get fired you may not. Good luck. Tell the truth.
