Mundelein, IL asked in Child Support, Divorce and Family Law for Illinois

Q: If I reduce child sup(verbal agree non court)have 50/50 custody they live in CA and I in IL. What can happen

We have 50/50 custody but i moved to IL and before I left we had a verbal agreement that I will send her money every 2 weeks for my 2 girls. Also for taxes she will report one and I the other. Since 2007 when I left everything was good I sent money every 2 weeks even for extra things and taxes filed no problem. Also if this makes a diff. the oldest daughter is my step but even after we divorced I still see her as mine. Always kept and still in contact with them. So fast fwd to 2017 out of nowhere I get a text from ex saying that she is going to file taxes with other daughter (one I used) I don't know what to do because she is not respecting our agreement. The only thing I can see is greed from her side but I am tired of her actions. I send $200 every 2 weeks and I want to send $150 now for what she is going to do. What can happen? if she files for child support would they base it from current income? past? can she even do it? thank you for your time truly appreciate it.

A: You r liable for child support for your daughter on birth certificate til she is 18. She can file for c.s. forward, not backward. It is based on your curent income but could be averaged if u have a job that fluctuates.

A: You say you got divorced.

Didn't the divorce cover these issues.

If it did, those don't change until a new court order is entered.
