New Milford, CT asked in Employment Law for Connecticut

Q: Can an employer deny me time to see a Dr. for an injury caused by my job, that was reported the day it happened? etc.

I was a teacher up until today at a private school. Over a month ago one of the kids head butted me and it caused a bad dental injury. I reported it to 1 of my 3 superiors and said I would need time to get it fixed, and was told they would find coverage. I went over 4 weeks without a Dr.'s appointment - my mouth became infected, my teeth moved and I was cut to shreds. I had to be on a liquid diet for weeks. The one superior kept agreeing to give me time on various days and another would take it away. I asked in writing, said I wanted to file for Workers Comp. and she responded with "sorry". I paid out of pocket. I was planning on giving my notice today, but wound up having to give it Thurs. because I got sick and she would not let me see a Dr. I went in today to complete my notice and she chased me out. Now she's threatening other teachers not to tell the parents that she wouldn't let me complete my notice, and is implying to parents I did something bad. How much of this is illegal?
