Q: Is there a way to get alerted when a celebrity court case is filed?

A: not that i know of.

my job was usually keeping the press away when celebs got arrested....

sometimes the police, Clerks or DA would notify press

A: Probably not, if the arrest makes the news, then I guess you could follow-up with visits to the courthouse on a regular basis to see if the case has been filed. Otherwise, you can probably follow the press coverage, they will likely publish the arraignment court date, there are people who make a living tracking down this type of information.

A: There are companies that monitor all civil filings in the courts for their clients and individuals, government entities and law firms are notified when there is a civil case filed against them even before there is a service of the summons and complaint. These services are moderately expensive. I suppose that you could subscribe to one of these at your own expense.
