Seattle, WA asked in Civil Rights, Constitutional Law and Employment Discrimination for California

Q: The City is destroying my business, do I have a case to sue them?

I want to sue the City of Los Angeles for having businesses require people to have the Vaccine. I will not get the vaccine due to religious & ethical beliefs as I am a Vegan. The vaccinated are spreading the virus through carelessness & unhygienic actions & now I am being punished for it. I wear a mask, sunglasses & carry sanitizer around with me, have a weakened immune system and have managed to stay Covid free. People want to stop wearing their masks, for selfish reasons & believe they are "Doing their part" by getting the vaccine but are spreading it by not wearing their masks properly. I am a businessman trying to run his business. I have a vending machines & this will make it impossible for me to make money & continue running my business. In a world that is trying to bring people of all races & sexual preferences together as one, this is once again making another separation between people. If you are willing to work with me on this so you are paid only if I win then contact me.

A: I believe it will be impossible for you to find an attorney to work on this case on a contingency fee basis. Not only is the chance of success so low that it would be a terrible business decision to work on the case on a contingency, but there is likely not enough money involved to interest a contingency fee attorney.

Just as you have the right to refuse to take the vaccine, businesses have the right to exclude you from their premises.

Generally, you cannot sue the government unless there is a statutory right to sue the government.

I think you are tilting at windmills here.

Finally, this site is not a place where you can solicit attorneys to work for you. It is nothing more than a Q&A board and it would be highly inappropriate for anyone here to respond with an intent to work with you.

Good luck to you.
