Q: Hi, I am being harassed every single day, by a neighbor. The management is not doing anything. What should I do?

Hi, I am being harassed every single day, multiple times a day by a neighbor. She keeps calling and using security as a way to harass me and bully me every single day. (Anytime she hears me on the phone or when she hears something). She just won’t leave me alone. The management knows. I have called them and sent them emails, and they are not doing anything. I don’t know what to do because I can’t move out at this time.

A: You can file your own harassment claim against this neighbor. all the necessary forms are available on the Court’s website (https://www.courts.ca.gov/forms.htm?query=civil%20harassment). See form CH-100-Info on the instructions whether or not you have an appropriate case for civil harassment orders. The form CH-100 is the form you will want to use.

Make sure you keep a written journal of all the incidents of harassment that you have experienced and may continue to experience. Include as much detail as you can. Identify all witnesses to the harassment, and describe what each witness might be able to say. Be sure to include yourself and the harasser as witnesses. Collect all the documents, including emails etc. that you have sent to management, since they may be useful to refresh your memory about all the harassment that has taken place.

Use all that information to fill out form CH-100. Make sure to read all the instructions that go along with it. All the information you need is right there on the website.
