Corona, CA asked in DUI / DWI and Employment Law for California

Q: If i got a dui 7 years ago will i be denied a company car from the company i work for? I am in the state of California

I have no other tickets, problems with the law and no driving restrains currently. I have been working for this company for 3 years and they decided to give me the chance to use a company car instead of using my own for work related drives.

A: More info is needed.

2 DUI’s within 10 yrs is a problem.

You will have a suspended license for 30 days or so and possible time in custody or home arrest with ankle bracelet and probably a tube you have to breath in to start your car.

If they know about your record, if I were their atty I would advise them not to let you drive for work.

They have been put on NOTICE of your drinking problem and if you got under the influence and hurt someone they would be taged.

A: The answer to your question depends on your employer and its insurer. If the employer or its insurer views you as an unacceptable risk, it can deny you use of a company car. It just depends on who is making the decision, or if the company insurer is willing to accept the risk.

Good luck to you.

A: You said "decided to give me the chance to use a company car instead of using my own". This sounds like they are providing you the car. So I don't understand the question. Be sure you don't conceal your driving history, at least be sure to give them the right to look it up through DMV records. Because if you conceal and there is any kind of accident, you could be in serious legal trouble, the insurer could refuse to cover you for fraud.
