Q: Hello I've been suffering from anxiety and I get panic attacks. Can I qualify for disability and who can help me?

Hello I have 2 weeks without working and i work in construction and when I don't work due to anxiety I don't get benefits. I have 2 kids and my wife and I dont know what to do with this anxiety that doesn't let me work due to panic attacks. It all started almost 4 years ago when my father passed away in a tragic accident and with the pandemic the terror on the media made it worse and also problems with my dad's family. I need urgent help because my back, chest and neck hurt really bad I think it's due anxiety and get headaches and heart palpitations. Also cannot lift stuff at work due to pain at back and chest at work and I think is the anxiety because I've gone to the ER and they done x ray and everything is fine and have told me it's anxiety. If anyone can help me please nearby Rosemead or LA. I live in rosemead. I have no health insurance. But when I had insurance they told me it was just anxiety. I need to support my family.

A: Dear Sir,

You may be eligible for State Disability Insurance (SDI) from the California Employment Development Department (EDD) if you apply within 49 days of the date you were last able to work. It will pay a percentage of your salary for up to 12 months. You will have to initiate this application on your own going to the California EDD website.

In addition, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) which will pay you disability benefits on a more permanent basis. Our office does help disabled applicants apply for SSDI, and we are located in San Marino, which is a few miles from Rosemead.

Sorry to hear about your situation, and best wishes getting the financial and medical assistance that you need.

A: I am an attorney in the Palm Springs Area who only accepts PI and DUI cases.

You want to contact a local workers comp attorney in your area.
