A: If the house is owned by both you and your husband, you generally cannot sell the house without his signature unless you have legal authority to do so, such as through a divorce settlement or a court order. You may need to consult with an attorney to discuss your legal options and to determine what steps you can take to protect your interests. If your husband is on drugs and not supporting you, you may also want to consider seeking legal help to obtain spousal support or to file for divorce. Additionally, you may want to explore options for getting help with housing and financial support, such as through local organizations or government programs.
