Q: Is $75 a month for a 7yr okay?

A: In California, child support is determined using guidelines established by state law. These guidelines take into account various factors, such as the income of both parents, the amount of time each parent spends with the child, and any special needs of the child.

Given your situation, where you have the primary responsibility for your daughter and the father picks her up every other weekend, the support amount may vary. $75 per month seems relatively low considering California's standards, especially if you are shouldering the majority of the day-to-day expenses for your daughter.

It's important to remember that child support is designed to cover a range of expenses for the child, including housing, food, clothing, education, and health care. If the current arrangement is not sufficiently addressing these needs, you may consider seeking a modification of the child support order.

You should review the specifics of your case with a qualified attorney or a family law professional. They can provide a more precise calculation based on the details of your income, the father's income, and other relevant factors under California law.

Remember, the well-being and best interests of your daughter are the primary considerations in any child support arrangement. Ensuring she has adequate financial support is key to her overall welfare.

A: Do you mean $75/month for child support? Without further information it is not possible to answer this question. Child support is calculated using an algebraic formula that factors in each party's income, certain deductions, the child's age and the percentage of time each parent has custody of the supported minor child.
