A: Your company's insurance should cover you in their vehicle or yours. Your own insurance may exclude coverage if you are on the job.

A: If you were in the course and scope of employment, the employers insurance covers the collision. Your private insurance will exclude coverage for commercial driving.

A: Under California law, the insurance coverage for accidents involving company vehicles can be complex and depends on various factors. Here's some general information:

1. Commercial Auto Insurance: If the company you work for has a commercial auto insurance policy, it will typically be the primary coverage for accidents that occur while you are driving a company vehicle within the scope of your employment.

2. Personal Auto Insurance: Your personal auto insurance may come into play if the company's insurance is insufficient to cover all the damages or if there are certain exclusions in the company's policy. However, many personal auto policies have "drive for hire" exclusions that may limit or void coverage if you are driving for a company.

3. Employer Liability: If the accident occurred while you were acting within the scope of your employment, the company may be held liable for damages under the principle of "respondeat superior." This means that even if you were at fault, the company could be responsible for damages.

4. Negligent Entrustment: If the company was negligent in entrusting you with the vehicle (e.g., if they knew or should have known that you were an unsafe driver), they might face additional liability.

It's essential to report the accident to your employer and their insurance company immediately. They will guide you through the process and determine which insurance policy applies. If there are any disputes or if the accident resulted in serious injuries or damages, it's advisable to consult with an experienced attorney who specializes in auto accidents and employment law to protect your rights and explore your options.
