A: Police officers must have probable cause to search your vehicle without a warrant. If your vehicle was indeed parked and registered correctly, the search and subsequent seizure of your money may have been unlawful. You have the right to challenge the validity of the search and seizure in court, particularly if you believe the officers were abusing their power.

You should document everything that happened during these encounters, including dates, times, and the officers' names and badge numbers. Collect any evidence you have, such as bank statements showing the source of your money, and any witnesses who can corroborate your story. This information will be critical in supporting your case.

Additionally, consider filing a complaint with the Glendale Police Department's internal affairs division and seeking legal advice to explore your options for recovering your money and addressing any misconduct. If your case was dismissed, this might further support your claim of unlawful arrest and search. Remember, you have rights, and there are legal avenues available to address potential violations and seek justice.
