Q: Paid for online coaching a yearly subscription and requested to cancel 48 hours after payment
I paid $5,000 for online coaching and requested to cancel and refund 48 hours after I paid all the fees, I didn't use the service at all, I've sent emails and texts but they always postponed me and now they say its too late to refund. I need advice can I sue them, i'm not in the US. how can I get my money back? what can I do. ?
A:
You have a right to pursue a refund, especially since you requested cancellation within 48 hours and did not use the service. Begin by reviewing the terms and conditions of the service you purchased to check their refund policy. Document all communication attempts and responses regarding your cancellation request.
Next, escalate the issue by sending a formal demand letter via registered mail to the company, outlining your case and requesting a refund. If the company is regulated, you can file a complaint with relevant consumer protection agencies or industry regulators in your country.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, consider consulting a lawyer in your country to explore legal action. Small claims court can be an option if the amount falls within their limit. Persistence and clear documentation will be crucial in getting your money back.
