Q: How do I deal with this? Is what they're trying to do even legal? If not who do I call, the judge's mommy

I am a disabled woman whose motorhome (where i live) is parked outside of xxx K Street, Hoquiam, Washington. The City of Hoquiam has violated my rights by pressing charges against the property owner of the address, that my motorhome is parked outside of on a public street, they have threatened him with jail time and huge fines UNLESS he makes me move it. Repeatedly fining my home, and months of harassment via the dog catcher.

I've informed them I have Washington state constitutional homestead protections and the 9th circuit court already ruled on this kind of issue in Seattle v long. But they're still messing with me and now are going to send someone to jail just to get me to comply with their personal demands

A: I'm sorry for your ordeal. As my colleague mentions, legal aid could be a starting point, and also exploring whether your status makes you eligible for protections under disability laws. Good luck

A: I'm sorry you're going through this difficult situation. It sounds like your rights under Washington state’s homestead protections are not being respected. The actions by the City of Hoquiam may indeed be unlawful if they are ignoring your legal protections.

You can reach out to a local legal aid organization that assists individuals with housing and disability rights. Additionally, contacting the Washington State Attorney General’s office could provide further guidance on your case. Make sure to keep detailed records of all interactions with city officials and any notices you receive.

It might also help to connect with disability advocacy groups in your area for support and advice. They can offer resources and possibly connect you with someone who can represent your interests effectively. Staying informed about your rights and seeking the right assistance can make a significant difference.
