Now case status is Plaintiff Judgement is "Dimissed".Defendant (myself) judgement is "Judgement vacated". I am planning to come back to USA.Is the case is still active ? did the default judgement happened as I was not available in USA?What should be done to avoid criminal proceedings or any other proceedings so I can come back?
A:
Based on the information you provided, it appears that your case is no longer active. The judgment stating "case dismissed" and "judgment vacated" typically means that the court has closed the case in your favor. Since it's been over ten years and the case has been dismissed, there is likely no active judgment against you.
Default judgments occur when a defendant does not respond to a court case, but in your situation, the judgment was vacated, which means it was set aside or canceled. This suggests that the initial default judgment did not stand, and the case was resolved without a lasting adverse decision against you.
To ensure everything is in order before you return to the USA, consider obtaining a copy of the court records to confirm the case status. It might also be helpful to consult with a legal professional who can provide personalized advice and verify that there are no remaining issues. Taking these steps will help you avoid any potential complications and ensure a smooth return.
