Poulsbo, WA asked in Car Accidents, Insurance Bad Faith and Insurance Defense for Washington

Q: What type of lawyer do i need for CONTESTING an AUTO PREMIUM INCREASE & how should i most effectively go about it?

on October the 8th i ended up rear ending someone in an accident, i filed a claim with my insurance & was determined to be at fault. Now my insurance knows about the traffic infraction i received then from the police report. Which i am contesting with my traffic ticket attorney. So anyways, im concerned about substantial premium increases, so what type of attorney would be able to handle this? Like to discuss with the insurance company or my adjuster to avoid any damages like such to help me file an appeal or any other tactics i could utilize in this position? Either to overturn fault or in any case just minimize the damages this would have on my premium?

A: A Washington attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. There are attorneys who handle insurance-related litigation. It sounds like you already have an attorney handling ticket-related aspects of the matter. In terms the insurance premium issues, it's worth keeping in mind that such legal services would not likely be handled on a contingency basis. You'd need to balance legal fees with what might be gained in terms of premiums. Good luck
