Q: what are the fines for first offense driving without insurance?

I didn't notice my insurance expired. right after being towed , i renewed insurance that very day of receiving the tickets.

Unfortunately in New Jersey it's a notice pleading state so if you had notice of the ticket and the officer can testify that he gave the ticket to you or saw you driving, even if some of the information on the ticket is wrong or missing the ticket will generally still stand. General this ticket is given when you're driving a vehicle that is over it's permitted weight. Generally your fine will be based on the amount of pounds the vehicle is overweight.

Yes, there are different tickets he could have issued and unlawfully operate is appropriate as would failure to obey a traffic signal

It is very difficult to answer your question, as Speeding tickets go by speed.

Up to 14 mph over is 2 points, 15-29 is 4 points and 30+ is 5 points

You can go to court to fight the tickets however you don't have a defense if your windows and license plates were tinted. Unfortunately the law is not equal and just like they are allowed to speed and your not, so are they also allowed to tint their squad cars windows and plates.... View More

Sure you can fight the ticket, but if you try to you could get a ticket for improper lane change a moving violation. Best bet is to just pay it, police are allowed to tailgate you.

Contact the court in the Connecticut town where you were issued the ticket and if you don't remember then contact NJMVC and they should tell you but if they don't know then your last stop would be CT Motor Vehicle. Good luck!

I would be willing to be that there is a warrant based on a failure to appear. If you do not show, a warrant can be issued and they can suspend your license. It is not a failure to prosecute.

In general clerical errors are not a defense to a traffic ticket. You need a defense based on the facts of the case. With two tickets I suggest you hire a good lawyer.
