Q: A semi hit me in a periodic passing lane because he failed to finish the pass before the lane ended

I was going 69 in a 70. His vehicle is governed to 70 and he waited until the last seconds to try and pass. He could clearly see the lane was about to end and forced me onto the shoulder and then struck the rear of my vehicle.

Very frustrating. The truck is in the wrong. You don't indicate if this is an accident or if a traffic citation, what you were cited for. Thank you for using Justia's Ask a Lawyer, but don't rely on what you are told here, consult a local attorney who will obtain all the facts from... View More

If you were operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway, you can be given a ticket for driving without a license.

Without eyeballing the letter and the ticket, the most likely answer is that as long as you do not have a "court-required" ticket----which means you have to go to court----then you payment of the ticket should be all you need to do----the jurisdiction which receives payment will note that... Age 21 and older = a license suspension for 3 convictions within 12 months. If the Wyoming ticket was reported to Illinois AND if your court supervision is converted to a conviction based on the violation, a conviction of the new ticket will result in a license suspension. Overall, it sounds like... View More
