Q: Can I sue my landlord for opening my mail?

I got a call from my landlord saying that a piece of my mail got delivered to their office accidentally. When I picked it up it was already opened. My name is printed clearly on the front and is from a county office. I feel like it's against the law to open my mail even if I am their tenant.

Absolutely they can drug test him in court in the bathroom. He should retain a lawyer ASAP if he thinks he is going to fail as he may go to jail right then for violation.

That might cause a mistrial. The litigious nature of the plaintiff is improper for the jury to consider.

You asked this question some years ago, it being nearly 2015 now. I hope you got your question answered. You did not provide enough facts here. You show cause when it is demanded by the court.

It depends upon many factors which you have not given. In state custody you do at least 85%, but if you are a prison release reoffender it could be day for day.
