It sounds like you are facing a misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or up to $1,000 in fines. Additionally, if you were going over 100 MPH, you risk losing your license for at least 6 months. You should have an attorney assist you with this case.

It is unlikely that the prosecutor would amend the ticket simply because you set the matter on for a court hearing to try and keep the matter off of your record. However, I would expect that if you were unable to resolve the matter and it was set for trial that the ticket could be amended.

Yes, you can get a ticket in the mail. It happens all the time. However, it does seem unusual that he wouldn’t tell you how fast you were speeding. Look for the ticket in the mail and the contact an attorney.
Were off until he initiated the stop. He also said my speed was between 70-75mph and never gave me a definite speed . The he said he would bring it down to 65mph. Would either of these things help my case against the speeding ticket he gave me?
