He stated that he passed me going the opposite direction about 2 miles back. So do I have to pay the ticket since he turned around and had to speed to catch up to me 2 miles later?

A person given a traffic citation by a Minnesota police officer must respond to it; or be convicted and fined by default. One way to respond is to pay the ticket, which amounts to a guilty plea as well. The other way to respond is to contact the court to make arrangements to be heard in court.... View More
No probation officer. If I get no tickets in a year it wont go on my record. Will the ticket in NE violate my MN stay of judication?
answered on May 24, 2020
Yes. But depending on timing and other factors, luck might favor you. There would be more incentive to delay and fight the NE ticket, in that situation, with or without a lawyer in NE.
We didn't see any no trespassing signs and we weren't planning on causing any damage, so we went in to explore a piece of history. However, the cops showed up and we all received citations. Is there such thing as a trespassing citation and were we even breaking the law by exploring the... View More

Of course there is such such thing as a trespassing citation. Whether what you did qualifies as trespassing is a different question. Was the building locked? Was it posted? Did you refuse to leave after being asked to? There are a lot of other questions here that need answering. You should... View More
I was stopped by a MN state trooper for speeding (69mph in a 60 zone, noting that the Trooper reduced it from 74). From the point that I turned onto this road to where I was pulled over, there were no speed limit signs (I have a dashcam). I have a clean driving record and the vehicle has Ambulance... View More

I won't answer all of those questions here. Instead, I invite your personal phone call to discuss. I will offer a couple tips here, though. Most people don't want a speed conviction on their driver's license record. The two most common results that fit that bill are: 1)... View More
Cop was driving in the opposite direction and made a U-turn. By the time he flashed his lights, the speed limit had changed from 35 to 45 after a right turn. He claimed I was going 50 in a 35 (before the right turn), but I'm sure I wasn't going more than 45. He did end up giving me a... View More

The CFR would keep it off of your record. That seems like a reasonable disposition. There is no guarantee that taking the matter to court will get you a better result. The COVID-19 issues will not have any effect whatsoever on things. Court dates are simply being delayed because of the... View More
As well as it said I was 5’ 51” tall my question is do I have to pay the ticket since he said I was not speeding?
answered on Apr 20, 2020
This is likely a typo. It would be unwise to ignore this. You should have an attorney monitor this and see if it can be dismissed.
I didn’t know about the ticket or about him paying the ticket until weeks later and only by looking at his bank statement. Being that he is 16 and I own the vehicle and pay the insurance shouldn’t I have been notified? Especially befor he admitted guilt by paying the fine
answered on Apr 17, 2020
No. It’s his ticket and he was the driver. You certainly have the option of cancelling his insurance and taking away his DL.
The trooper did not witness violation in person, Trooper viewed MN-Dot Cameras. Also there were multiple white corvettes on the highway at that time. Trooper pulled over multiple white corvettes. Traffic cam footage was really bad. no way to identify exactly which corvette or driver. Will this... View More
answered on Apr 12, 2020
There are two issues here: one is identifying the right vehicle. That depends on the quality of the traffic cam footage. The second issue is identifying the driver. That is likely going to be the stronger issue for you. I would certainly want to see the traffic cam footage if I were in your... View More
Never heard about these violation when being reinstated. Or renewing my license

You don't really provide enough information to answer this question intelligently. I'd suggest speaking directly with a criminal defense attorney. Most will provide a free consultation and can better answer your question with more information.
I was pulled over this morning driving a big rig with my arm on the arm rest smoking the officer said I had a handheld in my hand. When he finished with my inspection he gave it an the ticket to me. The ticket and inspection had two different truck information on it. And the ticket one was wrong

That is not a basis to have the ticket dismissed. Those sorts of errors happen all the time. You should think about challenging the ticket if you were not actually on the phone.
I did find it after the fact. I faxed the proof to the number on the back if ticket twice just to be sure. I didn't realize I also had to send it to another entity because thre ticket didn't tell me to. Thought I was good and went on my way only to be pulled over 5 months later for... View More

It's unclear what exactly you are asking. Each time that you pay a fine on a no proof of insurance or driving after revocation, it is essentially a guilty plea. The revocation time frames on each offense essentially compound and get longer with each plea. I would follow the requirements of... View More
Merged onto I-94 only to see troopers in the median. unsure of my speed but know I was moving with the flow of traffic. Trooper claims 20mph, but before pulling me over he was going in and out of traffic switching lanes racing down the road for ~0.5-1 mile. He then decides to move to the left... View More

Ultimately, the officer only needs reasonable articulable suspicion to pul you over. There would be a police report and either dash cam footage, body cam footage or both of the traffic stop. It is impossible to know why you were pulled over without accessing that information. You can certainly... View More
So I was going 90 on a 65mph and they said that they were gonna send me a letter in the mail telling me if I’m going to pay for the ticket or I’m going to court can I go to jail for this? Even know I’m a teenager.
answered on Mar 11, 2020
Being a teenager doesn’t keep you out of jail, but the charge will keep you out of jail if you only get charged with speeding. Slow down, there’s no reason to be going 90mph.
I recently received this speeding ticket apparently in 2004. I don't understand, why I just got it now? The address I currently live wasn't on my drivers license then. I currently live in a different state from the issued ticket. I'm confused as in what I should do.

It is unclear what state the ticket is from. You will want to contact an attorney in that state.
Was suppose to send me their evidence and hasn't yet. Court is march 12. The cop didnt actually stop anyone at first, he stopped on the freeway got out of his car and started flagging ppl over. Fight it in court, ideally with a lawyer. The discovery request you make to the prosecutor should be written. Then follow their directions to get full discovery. Or your lawyer will. You may be asked to pay copy costs. 80 in a 70 is still guilty, so work on other defenses.
I stopped appropriately behind a school bus, and when that one went, I went too. There was a second bus stopped at the corner, let the first bus by, and then put the stop sign out AS I was passing it and started honking at me. He did not put out the stop arm until I was right next to him. And he... View More

There is no set time for you to receive the ticket and it could take some time. You should expect to get something within a month or so, but that does not mean that you are in the clear.

You might have a legal argument to prevent the suspensions. I would look into retaining an attorney to look into the situation so the exact facts are known and then to follow up with DVS and if necessary the Court.

Yes. The incorrect information on the citation is not a silver bullet that will get you out of the ticket. These types of errors happen frequently and my guess is that the traffic stop is either on squad video or body cam footage.
Since its From 4 months ago does she still have to pay, on the ticket shows it shows it must be paid in 30 days, but it wasnt even filed until Jan 13.
answered on Feb 6, 2020
Yes she has to pay it. The fact that there was a delay in issuing the ticket is not a defense.

A common condition of probation for a DWI is that you not have any driver’s license or insurance violations. This ticket could result in a probation violation. I recommend having an attorney assist you to minimize the consequences of this ticket.
