Two borough traffic cops backed into my legally parked car causing damage. Their insurance initially agreed to payout the deductible, but are now refusing citing NJ law 59:2-1 'Immunity of Public Entity'. Can I fight this?

I don't practice in NJ, but generally speaking, someone may make claims against you personally if you were (or if they allege you were) at fault. You should talk to a personal injury lawyer about defending against any such claim. You may have to pay them hourly. Be well.

If any business or entity obtains a judgment against you they can execute (take) any assets you own. So if you own a bike or truck they can take this if they sue you and get a jusgment.
