Q: What types of cases are filed in District court in RI and what types of cases are filed in Superior court in RI?

I'm just wondering what cases are heard in district court (types) and what types of cases are heard in Superior court? Do all cases go through both?

Misdemeanors are heard in the District court along with low value civil cases. The Superior Court generally hears high value civil cases and felony criminal cases.
