It is listed as a 4031 violation on my ticket.
pulled over by nys trooper for speeding.after smelling marijuana in the car I openly admitted to having some in the car and said where it was. I was never placed under arrest or anything instead the officer asked me to sit in his patrol car with him while he filled out the ticket and summons and he... View More

You probably shouldn't have gone back to the station. If you were served with papers when you went back to the police station, then you know what you were charged with and when to go to court.
As for throwing the pipe into the woods, that was probably an error on the police... View More

If the other side does't show up when scheduled, ask the judge to dismiss.

I opened my car door and exited my vehicle. Another car drove by and hit my door

Are you asking if it is a violation to hit another car intentionally? See New York Penal Law 145 "Criminal Mischief."
I received a traffic ticket in New York City. The ticket states the violation as “Motor carrier allow/require driver to use cellphone in cmv.” My car is not a commercial vehicle and I am not a commercial driver. My question is will the judge at the DMV throw it out right away, or will he be... View More

You are lucky, because it records as a 0 point violation on your driving record. If you fight it, they can change it to the correct 5 point charge in court.

If you don't show up for your case, the Court in Montgomery county will issue a warrant. You can re-post your question in the Georgia section to see if they will pick you up and send you back based on a NY warrant.
I was driving in the left lane, the bus in the right. Traffic was moving slowly and I was not speeding. I was passing the bus when it’s red stop sign came out, it was not engaged before. And I did not see any yellow lights, a cop that was sitting in the turn lane behind me issued me a ticket. I... View More

The police officer probably has a different version to the story: that the school bus extended it's lights before you reached the school bus. This sets up a "he said she said" situation. If plea deals are allowed in your court, try to plead down the 5 points.
I received a ticket for Disobeying Traffic Device in NYC. The officer said something about the summons, which I didn't understand. Do I have to go to the court, if I plead guilty and pay the ticket online?
answered on Oct 10, 2018
No. You would only need to go to court, if you choose to fight the ticket without an attorney.

Hello,
Did you receive the ticket or were you found guilty of the charge the same day you took the class? That is critical in determining whether the class will help.
East Hampton Village. He said the car in from of him was the color stated on the ticket and was going much faster than he was, but wasn't stopped.
Ticket was running a stop sign causing an injury crash. I was never served by a police officer. The clerk handed it to me with the police report. Am I still legally responsible? Should I get an attorney?

Usually you can send an attorney to go for you, if it's just a traffic violation.
Hi,
I live in New York and went for a vacation to Bloomington, Indiana. I was caught going 86 in a 55 with a NY learners permit(and INDIA driving license) in a rental car. What should I do? Is there a way to keep this off my driving record when I apply for the driving test to get the... View More

As long as the charge isn't a crime in Indiana, the conviction won't affect you in NY. Just pay it, or get an attorney in Indiana to reduce it for you, if that is cost effective.
- I hear sometimes the officers don't show and then you get off paying.

It is always better to fight. What Court is the ticket filed in?
Tickets pending if I get a lawyer what is the likelihood of beating them
answered on Aug 10, 2018
It would help to know where each of these tickets are filed. Even if the speeds are reduced to 5 MPH each, your license will get revoked, fore having more than 3 speeding tickets within 18 months.
I'm not sure if the other ticket is on record. So how am I supposed to know if I have that other ticket? And how am I supposed to respond to it? They are the same ticket, checked every single detail and number on each and they're the exact same.
answered on Aug 7, 2018
If they have different ticket numbers (see the top left or bottom right) then you got two tickets, maybe for the same thing.
The violation is from 2012 it is now 2018 in ny they charge points by date of violation no conviction and points disappear after 18 months.
