Q: I am curious if I have any recourse for my position being dissolved when I was actually replaced before the dissolution?

I was the hospital manager at a Veterinary Hospital that was sold in September 2017 to another company. The medical director was not performing as anticipated creating issues. We were informed that our ROD would be speaking each doctor and then a plan would be formulated for moving the hospital forward. The plan ended up being to hire a business person to come in assess and make a plan and remove the medical director. On March 5, 2018 I received an email from our ROD that I was not to worry that I was being replaced with this business person as that was exactly the opposite of what was happening and that it was important that we restructure the hospital for optimum efficiency and health of the culture. The business person they hired started on April 3, 2018 as the Hospital Director. On April 24, 2018 I was informed that the position of Hospital Manager was being dissolved and the duties absorbed by the administrative team. A: In Maryland, you can be filed with or without good cause and at any time. Did they pay you what they owed you? If not, you may be able to recover the unpaid funds. Sorry.
