Fountain Hill, PA asked in Personal Injury, Insurance Bad Faith, Insurance Defense and Legal Malpractice for Pennsylvania

Q: Settled, incident 3+yrs ago. Lawyer never contacts us & refused itemized. Over 2x more $ and now being told out of cntry

Personal insurance covered everything when stores should have, so they taking for every doc visit, which still happens frequently. Delays seem to be from our own lawyer at this point, we were told to sign months ago, without being able to see itemized receipt even though we asked for it. The delays continue to cause less and less money that will be received, and have already gone beyond the point of hinderance, where we will see almost nothing while he collects over 23k.

Retired recently because of too much pain and was relying on the money agreed upon, in order to do so financially, and knee replacement is absolutely needed.

Getting evaded every time we reach out, and now after finally being shown a final estimated number that will be cut to us & lawyer, getting told that he is out of the country.

A: If lawyer is out of country and has access to email, that should still enable wrapping up paperwork for case. If you are able to establish email contact and carrier is willing to work with digital scans of releases, lien forms, and other related paperwork for closing out the case, that might be an option. Good luck

A: not clear what type of case it was etc. Generally, I advise people to make an appointment to go in in person and see the file, talk to someone. If they won't contact the local bar association.
