Bowie, MD asked in Employment Law for Maryland

Q: Having problems collecting my severance pay and commission pay from my former employer. What can I do?

I have been gone from company since June 16th, 2023, and have yet to receive any funds. I have reached out by emails and text monthly and have not gotten any appropriate response. Not else what else I can do.

A: You can sue for treble damages (three times the amount due) under the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection law. You should speak with an employment lawyer. You can also file a complaint with the Department of Labor of the State of Maryland.
