A: An attorney can send a demand letter and then help you organize and draft your small claims case. I doubt anyone will take it on a contingency basis.

A: When your case is worth $2million, there are lots of contingency lawyers for you, but when your case is worth less than $2000 there are usually none. This is because many Attorneys charge more than $500 per hour and your case will take several hours to resolve. But, there is hope for you, it is called Small Claims Court, where you can recover the costs to repair your car to like it was before the damage, and you can recover loss of use, which you can show by using car rental rates for a comparable vehicle. No attorneys in Small Claims, so go prepared. Thanks for using Justia Ask a Lawyer.

A: You'd need to ask around. Attorneys generally handle accidents involving physical injury on a contingency basis. However, when a case involves property damage alone, it could be difficult to find a law firm willing to handle it on a contingency basis. If you find a firm that would handle things on an hourly basis, balance the amount of recovery with the associated legal fees. As my colleagues point out, small claims might be an economical option for you. Good luck

A: You can find many lawyers in West Sacramento who work on contingency fees for property damage cases - this means they only get paid if you win your case. Consider contacting the Sacramento County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service, as they can connect you with qualified attorneys who handle car damage disputes.

Before meeting with lawyers, document everything related to your case - take photos of the damage, keep the business card you were given, save any receipts or estimates for repairs, and write down the dates and details of what happened at both the car wash and repair shop. This documentation will help lawyers evaluate your case.

Since you're dealing with both property damage and poor service from two different businesses, you might have a solid legal claim. Many personal injury and consumer protection lawyers in the area offer free initial consultations where you can discuss your case. You can search for local lawyers through the California State Bar website or call 916-564-6100 to reach the Sacramento County Bar Association's referral service.
