Maybe. Depends on the policy. Many policies cover only permissive drivers, but that typically applies to liability. If you have collision coverage, you might be okay. But read the policy and check with a local lawyer to be sure.

Q: I was involved in accident in Alabama, I am living in North Carolina with Florida D.L. Where should I hire attorney?

I was involved in an accident in Alabama (tractor trailer involved) in May. I was traveling to North Carolina (where I mostly reside) but my license/registration/insurance is from Florida. If a lawsuit is filed, it will likely have to filed in Alabama. You can hire an Alabama lawyer, or a non-Alabama lawyer licensed in Alabama, or a non-Alabama lawyer who would have to co-counsel with an Alabama lawyer.

There could be a claim against the party that owns or maintains the property. Whether it is worth suing depends on the damages you sustained. The costs for this type of action will probably be higher due to the need for expert testimony.

Recently in a wreck driving the car of my recently deceased boyfriend. Was not aware that the insurance had terminated two days earlier. Should my insurance cover this cost?

It would be helpful to know who was at fault in the accident. If no one else was at fault, it could be difficult to get coverage under those circumstances.

A lawyer where you live cannot help you in Greenville,SC unless the lawyer is also licensed to practice law in SC. You need a traffic attorney in Greenville SC if you are charged with a traffic offense there. Your place of residence is not relevant.

Since your daughter rear ender someone else, sounds like your daughter is probably at fault for the accident. You should speak with your insurance company first. If a claim is filed against her, your insurer will likely provide counsel to defend the claim (at least up to amount of your policy... View More

Generally, if there were no other cars involved, and you ran a stop sign, the case should get dismissed. Most stop sign charges arise out of an officer actually seeing you run the stop sign. Here, the officer has no first hand knowledge of your running the stop sign. To play it safe, I would hire a... View More
