She was adopted over a year ago, and yet my obligation remains. My ex wife is completely unwilling to help me cease these charges for a daughter that I no longer have any legal rights or obligations to. I believe I have the name of the attorney that handled the adoption, but his office is also... View More

Accruing in connection with your divorce (or "dissolution" in Florida) proceeding? I take it that the dissolution decree includes an obligation to pay child support. If anyone attempts to enforce those provisions of the decree, simply respond with a certified copy of the decree of adoption.
My mother divorced and remarried when I was 3..they just changed my name but was I was never legally adopted...does this affect my life in any way ?? like my name on my Social Security...etc...?

I assume that you are now an adult. Are your mother and step-father still alive? If so, what you inherit from them when they die might be effected, and so you should make sure that they have both provided for you in their wills. If you are already registered with Social Security, it doesn't... View More

File a petition for full custody first, the step-parent adoption later.

At this stage you have to contact dcf and find out what the status is, or hire an attorney, basically.
My 14 year old cousin is a ward off the state, but her mother still had visitation rights. My grandmother has been her guardian her entire life, but a different aunt went behind my grandma's back because she is getting sick and took custody from her. Is there anyway for me to adopt her so that... View More

You need to get to an attorney for a full discussion in a confidential setting. The attorney will be able to ask questions and get answers. Go see a local family lawyer about this.

More facts are needed to even begin to answer this question. Basically, this can be done if the adoption was fraudulent, perhaps.
My daughter's disease is slowly taking away all of her abilities to tslk, walk and control her body. I want to make sure everything is legal for me to adopt so my daughter will have peace knowing her daughter is taken care of with no issues.

Adoption may not be the best route to go. It might be better to seek temporary custody by extended family. Go see a family attorney about these matters.

Your step father, and mother, should go see a family attorney in your area. Some attorneys do not charge a lot for doing this, and I think the court costs are around $400.
I want to give her the same opportunity I was given.

Can I have the adoption reversed
answered on Dec 16, 2014
Probably not, but since she is an adult, you are not responsible for her. You might want to make sure that you have a will and that this person inherits nothing from you.
of paperwork is needed until legality can be worked out.

Either a formal guardianship, for which you will need an attorney, or an adoption, for which you will also need an attorney.

You gave no facts, just a question. The facts are very important and asking questions without giving enough facts is like telling you to make meatloaf without the meat.
No final judgement yet and she cannot support her. She has lived with us since 3 month old (19 months now) I'm afraid she will try and take her before it is final.

Well, has the adoption been filed yet? She signed a consent, right? You need to get the adoption finalized as soon as possible. More facts are needed to advise you accordingly.

It depends upon the attorney you hire as to how much the attorney's fee is. The filing fee is a bit over $300. A reasonable attorney's fee would be 750 to 1500 perhaps.
