These errors are not going to get you out from under the citation. There is likely a police report and perhaps a dash cam/squad video of the traffic stop. Get an attorney if you wish to contest the ticket. An attorney might help you avoid or minimize the consequences for whatever happened here.
the back window. I'm an older woman and tried to put them on, but could not get them to stay. And, I could never get the front one off. They never originally removed my plates. as of now it does not show in the system yet. The ticket says "original" and there is no Officer name or... View More

I would imagine your just facing a fine. The outcome depends on the county where it occurred.

Not in the least. You need a drivers license to drive. Some types of travel, such as flying, will require a government issued ID.

A clerical error is not a basis to challenge the ticket, but there might be some other legal issues. Discuss the matter with an attorney.

Minnesota does not use a point system. But the ticket in California will count against you in MN.
answered on Dec 5, 2019
No. There is no requirement that you sign a ticket when it is issued.
answered on Dec 5, 2019
Not signing for the ticket does you no good at all. It's still a ticket that you have to address whether you have signed it or not.

You could check the Minnesota Rules for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Or call a Driver Evaluator at the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to check. If it were me, I'd go to court and work to prevent a conviction. If no conviction, then it can't go on the Driver's License Record.

You have to deal with the consequences. You don’t get out of a speeding ticket just because you don’t have a DL.
plates, towed my car, and said that he was doing a long form instead of arresting me. I have finally found out that he was doing something called an administrative citation, and I still have yet to get my car because I have no money and no way to get there now that I do have the money needed, but... If I understand this question correctly, it sounds like a money problem. If my vehicle won't be released without new plates and tabs, that sounds like the first priority with limited funds. Try calling Diversion Solutions for possible help on a payment plan for the Minnesota Department of... View More

A couple of years ago? If you resolved the case years ago, it is too late to re-open this case. But is unclear from your question - is the case still pending?
It’s been almost 10 business days since I got my citation but I know for minors that if it is not up after a month, it does not have to be paid. Is that “rule” the same thing as a speeding ticket?
answered on Nov 13, 2019
There is not a 10 or 30 day limit for them to file a ticket.
My husband is going to lose his license as a "habitual violator" from a failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk ticket which was deferred as long as no same or similar ticket was received in 12 months time. Since that time, he was issued a failure to stop at a stop sign, a... View More

It’s hard to say for sure without seeing the deferred prosecution agreement, but typically such an agreement calls for no moving violations. Get a copy of that to make sure what the agreement actually was.
The court is trying to reschedule due to troopers planned vacation. Do they have the right to reschedule the court date at their convenience?

Yes. Absolutely. Hearings are rescheduled all the time due to someone’s unavailability.
Citation paper. In her home state the officers have to tell you what you owe upon receiving the citation. So my question would be is it the same for us here in Minnesota.
answered on Oct 10, 2019
No. In Minnesota a police officer giving a traffic citation to a driver is not required to tell the driver the amount of the fine; nor is the citation required to state that amount. However, the driver can learn that information online on the court's website or by calling or visiting the... View More
A traffic ticket mailed in has this case type. The mailed portion does not have Endangering life or property checked. The fine itself is less than $200. Is this Misdemeanor charge more serious than speeding traffic ticket?
answered on Oct 1, 2019
That means that the offense is a petty misdemeanor. It only carries a fine and not potential jail time. You do not have to appear in court. You can handle this administratively. But be aware that paying the fine is the equivalent of pleading guilty to the charge.
The citation was given after the police officer called me.
She said I didn't drove past a pedestrian and I thought I drove past after the pedestrian had crossed the road.
She also said she had other witnesses. How should I proceed?

Hiring an attorney certainly minimizes the consequences that you might face. But you have to weigh the costs of hiring an attorney vs. what it would cost to simply pay the fine.
This question is linked to the "passing by school bus infraction" one. I know that at any court I can get a lawyer. But, for what I understand by your previous answer, that this infraction is not simple a "payable offense", Should we hire the service of a lawyer to go to court?... View More

Paying the ticket is an admission of guilt. There may be able way to keep this off of your record, but blindly going to court and pleading guilty is not one of them. Speak directly with an attorney regarding this matter. There are ways to keep if off of your record.
