Get a criminal defense attorney. It appears you are now facing a violation of probation. There may or may not be a bond, and you might have to stay in jail until your judge has the next vop docket.

Q: Is it legal for a plaintiff to bring the same claim against a defendant in both civil and criminal courts?

I was sexually assaulted. I think I may want to file a civil lawsuit to attempt for my assailant to receive court-ordered therapy before I pursue criminal charges. If I did that, I first would want to ensure I'm not jeopardizing a criminal case by filing a civil lawsuit.

The prosecutor and the cops make the decision to bring criminal charges, you do not. And yes, it is legal for there to be both criminal and civil charges under the same facts.
