Depends on the Court. If you are not default convicted, go to each court, pay a suspension termination fee and post bail. You can either work out a plea deal, or set the matter for trial. Some of the officers will be retired.

When you ignore a ticket in NY, it stays forever. 10 years or 30 years later, you need to deal with it if you want your driver's license back. How you deal with it is another question.

The question is not whether the pedestrians had the light: if the pedestrians were in the crosswalk, you were required to yield.

Even if you were technically guilty, you might win at trial. Even if you were not guilty, the officer's story might be different when he testifies at trial.

Usually the answer is no: the class helps for ticket received/issued 18 months prior to the date of the course.

In your case, I am assuming that your ticket is filed somewhere in NYC, where the Judges (ALJs) have discretion to look at the points differently, and can take into consideration...

This ticket does not carry points, but it may affect your driving record. You can choose to either plead not guilty and fight it or plead guilty and pay the fine.

Sounds like he said she said. The officer says they gave you the ticket, and the judge believed the officer, and found you guilty. If you have a warrant, that means there is probably a criminal charge issued as well for driving suspended. If you cannot afford a attorney, you may be eligible for a... View More

There are a number of points in the proceedings where different statutes of limitations apply. I assume you are asking about the start of the case, which is one year form the date of offense. If that is not what you had in mind, ask again with more specificity.

When you recived the ticket you were required to plead guilty or not guilty by a certain date. (should have been somewhere on the ticket) you can call the court to figure out the next step to getting your license un-suspended, or you can hire an attorney to do that for you.

Q: I was given a ticket in Brooklyn and ticket says it was in the Bronx can it be dismissed?

Ticket was for holding an electronic device (GPS). Since the ticket said it was in the Bronx I have to go to the DMV there instead of Brooklyn. This was 2 years ago and now is my court date after all that time. Is there a possibility for dismissal?

One of the ways this hurts you is that you may not know that the max fine is $300, but there is also a mandatory $93 surcharge and $300 state fee. You probably want to fight this ticket.

This is difficult problem to untangle. There are probably a few more pieces to the puzzle. For instance, was she insured in CA? I can't understand this from your question. Even if she pays the fine, her license would be suspended in NY for around 9 months. Then the questions becomes whether... View More
