If it was not requested or discussed in your custody matter, yes you can file a separate child support action. If it is only child support you are seeking, then you should contact the Office of Child Support Enforcement Agency (OCSE) in your county who can assist you with this for a fee of $25.
I sued for custody and lost and was only awarded visitation. The other party was given full custody. Child support wasn't awarded. Can the winning party sue for custody if I reopened the case to file a post judgment motion?

The Court has the discretion to state that the parties are to be generally charged with the support of the minor child. However, the Judge must state on the record why it is in the best interest of the child for their not to be any child support awarded (i.e. the access schedule is close to 50/50... View More

Are you getting paid during your leave? If not, you should file a modification of child support ASAP and request that child support either be reduced or terminated during the period that you are not working.

Depends on a lot of different facts which are not described in your question. Such as, is there child support still owed? Why did you receive a refund? And more.

You can file for child support so long as the child is under 18 or is still in high school and is under 19. However, you will not be able to receive any back child support from the other parent prior to the date that you file for child support. In addition, I should note that if custody is not... View More
