I was intimidated by a bias judge I've seen before. I couldn't even speak after weeks of preparing . No one seems to be willing to take a Pro bono case. I'm at my wits end and I can't do this alone again.

You would probably have to go through QDRO - Qualified Domestic Relations Order. It's a process where you would need a court ordered QDRO and then send it to the pension plan administrator, before they can release the funds. Yes, it's advisable to hire an attorney.
