Q: How to determin spouses hidden assets
I have her ss # and possible bank accountsaccounts
A:
This is not a legal question, but more of a detective question -- meaning that you probably need to hire a private detective or engage in other kinds of fact gathering or sleuthing to find out where any hidden assets might be. People often try to hide assets, but they rarely do it well. Sleuthing is not easy to do, but if you do it, hidden assets should become apparent very quickly.
If you can afford it, I would hire a private detective (e.g. retired police officer) as this type of detective work is very common.
A: I would recommend hiring a Divorce Attorney and a Forensic Accountant for this purpose. The best first step is an Initial Consultation with an Attorney. A: If you haven't done so, consider starting with propounding discovery, and then subpoena bank accounts if she is does not comply. Also, consider filing a motion to compel if she doesn't disclose the information. Hiring a family law attorney can represent you dealing with these issues.
