If the dog doesn't have a tag or other indicator that it belongs to someone, you are safe in assuming it is a stray and keep it. Similarly, if someone observes an animal being abused, neglected or being subjected to circumstances that cause you to fear for its safety, Louisiana has a law in... View More

By all means pick it up and save its life! You don't need the guidance of an attorney here. Unless you risked causing a five-car pile-up on a freeway, I don't think a traffic safety officer would cite you for a violation. Technically it would be a traffic violation to do something like... View More

I sit by parking lot curb at local tractor supply, facing the highway, and many people tell me it's illegal but non can tell me the law about it.

Every town/city may have different laws regarding this. I would recommend contacting the local police to see if there are any licensing requirements or limitations you should know about.
Recently the landlord and I finally came to an agreement over damages her neglect caused my property. The next day she began demanding my dog be put on a leash. My service dog had not been leashed in almost a year, since she had become a service dog.
answered on Apr 11, 2023
Your service dog cannot be required to be on a leash in two instances: 1) your disability prevents you from using a leash, and 2) the service your dog performs for you as a result of your disability cannot be performed if the dog is on a leash.

Arrested for aggravated felony Cruelty to Animals. Paper shows court date is 8:30 am Tuesday, 5/31/22
answered on May 30, 2022
The courthouse is closed today (Memorial Day) is closed so I suggest that you simply show up at the district courthouse in the jurisdiction you were arrested Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. You do not want to miss your court date as that would result in a bench warrant being issued. Since you have a felony... View More

To leave your dog in the car risks you losing your dog, damage to your car and a fine.

Your dog can run free only if you have a fenced yard. Otherwise he needs to be walked on a leash.
His health has improved dramatically since I've cared for him.
