Why not wait until the girl turns 18? That is much easier if the parents will not consent and it seems unlikely to get emancipated prior to turning 18.

Q: if i took a youth offender plea when the sentence is complete do i get my rights back

Ask the attorney who represents you, it may not be automatic. You have to wait for 8 years after the completion of the sentence to apply to restore 2nd amendment rights and a number of years for other rights.

Q: Is it legal for an 18 year old to date a 17 year old with no sexual activity?

If I start dating someone as a minor and I turn 18, and she's a year behind is that O.K.? I'm not 18 yet but want to know for the future. It's a weird age to be at and I don't want kissing her to suddenly become sexual assault or something.

Ha. No, it isn't criminal. You are safe to date.

I do recommend you review Florida Statute794.05 to avoid any confusion in the future.

Since when is a 17 year old an adult?

Frankly, her father's decision to keep his (currently) 16 year old daughter away from a 27 year old Is 100% legal and perfectly sane.

You Have zero rights. He does have a right to keep you away, and you are walking a very fine line.

At this point, because she is still a minor her rights are very limited. Within the dependency case, she can request to be heard by the Judge, but it is up to the Judge if he/she allows this.
