Q: I’m not really sure if this implies to this but my grandmother has had temporary custody of me since last December im 16

Turning 17 in November. I’ve been major depressed (I have serious depression and anxiety) my whole life it’s gotten worse since I’ve been here. Can I leave Home and live with my best friend (she has a job and a stable home) without my gmothers permission?

Not. Not without your grandmothers permission. If she has tc of you, she has the same rights as a parent. If she gives permission for you to you, then you can go. If not, you would need to return to the court that granted custody and petition for your emancipation.

Q: child was arrested last night can i see him? Do I have to wait for the visitation schedule or is there a booking visit?

Visitation rule vary from county to county and jail to jail. Contact the facility he is currently at and find out the visitation schedule. There is no booking visit.

Q: is it possible to get emancipated at age 16 with parental consent? If so, what do i need in order to do so?

i am working on getting a job, my mother is willing to sign any papers necessary, i have a place to live where i will pay rent, i do not have any money for an attorney.

You will have to petition the district court in the county you live in to emancipate you. It is up to the district judge but if your mother consents and the judge believes it is appropriate, it could be granted.

Q: If a teenager runs from an independent living facility at age 17. Would they still be charged with anything as an adult?

They certainly could be, depending on the severity of the crime.

Depends on their maturity levels, but likely yes , especially if the 17 year old is responsible. There is no statutory age at which they can stay by themselves. Q: Is possession of marijuana illegal on school grounds even if the person claims that they weren't aware of the marijuana?

For a mock trial in high school class, we represent the teacher who searched the bag and several other random student's bags. We believe there was reasonable cause.

There is no criminal offense that is strict liability in Kentucky. You have to have known marijuana was on you and in school. I don't think it is enough to say, "yea, its mine. But, I swear I left it at home with my bong and album cover I use to de-stem my stash."
