FMLA does not provide for paid leave, so that's out. As to unemployment, that is filed with the state, and they make that determination. Did the state give you a reason as to why they refused unemployment compensation? It sounds like you just voluntarily left the job.

You should contact the police to fill out a report and likely a civil protection order to keep the person away. Talk with an attorney to file a temporary restraining order against the person. The first thing is to stop the threat immediately, then worry about a civil suit at a later time.

If your mother owns the home, then she can evict your boyfriend. Simple as that. Since he has lived there 2+ years, she will have to go through the formal eviction process as he has clearly established residency there. It does not matter at all that he has been helping to pay bills.

I've received a summons for petit jury duty. It states that if I don't show that I may be subject to a fine or contempt provided by Ohio Law but there is no law referenced. 2313.12 only states that is a policy of the state. What is the Law?

Did you tell them to fix it or not? I suspect their side of the story will be quite different. To answer your question, no they can't file charges. They can report a suspected crime to the police, who will investigate and work with a prosecutor to determine whether or not to file charges.
