There is a Guide and File portal on the Family Court section of the Rhode Island Judiciary's website. If you are trying to represent yourself then you can try to commence a case using the Guide and File and follow its instructions. Hiring a lawyer would be a good idea though.

Sorry to hear an ex-employee robbed you. Did you check your insurance policy of you are covered for employee dishonesty? Some policies have automatic coverage like $5K-$15K.How were the monies taken, by ACH/wire/check?

My guess is that the Arbitrator wanted to see if you received unemployment benefits because, if you did, he would probably deduct the amount you received from any judgment in your favor.
