Q: Do I need a contractors license to bid on a contract in TN if I am only providing materials?

I sell traffic control devices and want to bid on a contract with the county in TN. The price will be above $25,000. Do I need a contractors license to bid if I'm not providing a service? I am a wholesale company only. If so, which contractor license would I need?

It might be more reliable to check with the purchasing/procurement department manager of the county - it could depend on how they wrote... View More

If you are only selling them the device, that should not expose you to Tennessee contractor laws. But if you are performing any work, or paying someone else to perform the work for the installation you probably are subject to the contractor statutes. This question is pretty complicated and will be... View More

In Tennessee and generally in the United States, employers, including state jobs, are typically prohibited from reducing a new hire's starting salary solely because of a disclosed disability such as ADHD. It is illegal for employers to discriminate against individuals due to a disability under... View More

Q: I own 1/4 of ten acres, can I offer to convey all 10 acres to a third party?

My goal is to respond to a government-issued RFP to sell land for a new building site by offering the land for sale, gauge the interest of the government entity to see what they are willing to pay, then use that information to buyout the rest of the co-owners so that I can make a profit on the... I do not understand your stated strategy. However if you are a tenant in common of an one/quarter undivided interest in the real property, you can only convey what you own. Any representation that you can convey a fee to ten acres is fraud. The proposed purchaser would probably find out... View More

File a protest, and also notify the press, the American legion and the Tennessee Civil Liberties Union.

If enough press is thrown on this, could make them back down.

Note however patriotic would be the American Flag. Signs promoting one candidate or belittling another are not in...

You might consider filing a Civil Warrant for Conversion in General Sessions. The exact name of the Shop must be listed as Party Defendant, and you must properly serve it.

An attorney would need to review the contract documents and have a discussion with you further about the facts to determine whether you have any causes of action. Consult a local attorney to assist you.

Not sure of your question. But if you were convicted, not just charged, with a Felony, then you cannot be a Notary Public in Tennessee...You may wish to check with the Court Clerk where the charge was, to see what the actual disposition was.
