Q: how much do criminal lawyers charge. My granddaughter has two cases against her and she is facing jail time.

she clims if she goes to jail, she will kill herself. she has two small children. she went to one lawyer and he charges $2500. She has no money and no job. I am willing to help her but do not have $2500. I am her grandmother and on social security

Q: Can a Police officer in NJ issue a DWI in a bar /Restaurant parking lot if the subject called 911 to report an accident.

Q: received a check($10.000) without funds(in NY). what i do? i call the writer of the check, but i think he try to avoid.

That is enough money for you to consider hiring a lawyer to follow up for you. You should be able to locate someone to represent you for a fair flat fee. Good luck.

Q: My son was granted a plea bargain of 1 year as accepted by the Prosecutor of Burlington County and the Public Defender

The sitting judge accepted the plea and ruled accordingly. Now the parole board refuses to release him. He has no demerits, was on a work crew and received accolades. More info is needed, but it appears that the crime pled to for the 1 year sentence was in addition to and possibly consecutive to the sentence being served before this latest conviction. You might want to schedule a consultation with an experienced criminal defense attorney.
